Domaine de Cabrials is a historic wine estate located on chalk and clay terraces just west of Béziers in the Languedoc region of southern France. The estate is famous for producing high-quality, approachable, and affordable French wines, with fun, modern labels and a strong sense of 'joie de vivre'.
The estate consists of 80 hectares (200 acres) and features a 19th-century mansion built on the site of a medieval château. It is today owned and run by the Julien family. They don't put their name to anything that isn't of good quality, whatever the price point.
There is a lot of dross produced in the Languedoc, yes, but it's also a source of some great value wines and many producers have really lifted their game over the last few decades - thanks to the competition from new world countries, they have had no choice but to do so!
The grapes for this wine were harvested at night and then pressed at a cool temperature to preserve freshness.
Wonderfully dry, crisp and easy to enjoy, this charming pink boasts plenty of juicy berry flavours - think strawberry and raspberry - with a refreshing touch of citrus that lifts the finish.
Really well-made: respect for terroir and restraint in the winery are the hallmarks of this estate.
Food Pairing:
Great on its own, with some nibbles, and with seafood (e.g. grilled prawns), summer salads, charcuterie.
